Witugo

A media company in Asaba, Nigeria. The identity I built for my own company in 2021, updated in 2023 and written up as a guide in 2026.

2021Brand, creative direction

Witugo Media Company is the company I founded in 2021 and ran as creative director for three years: brand identity, websites and content for business clients. Before any client work, I built its own identity.

The Witugo logo: a diamond mark beside the name
The mark is a diamond. The lockup sits horizontal, with the clear space set at a quarter of the icon.

The system

True Blue, Diamond Gold and Deep Charcoal on pure white and mist grey, with Clouded Silver and Slate Grey for the quiet parts. Inter for formal documents, Nunito Sans for headlines and Geist for text and interfaces. The diamond repeats as a soft pattern, never a heavy one.

Illustration

The illustrations are black ink outlines with flat fills and white highlights, round forms, and one strong ground colour each. They carry the company’s voice where a photograph would be too literal.
