A directory is only useful if it stays true as it grows. The Atlas has a fixed schema for every card, a status taxonomy, comparison tables, and a deliberate link-stability policy, so that a reference made today still resolves next year.
It is also a working example of a knowledge base built for an AI agent to use, not only a person: the structure is the product.
